General Information
Due to email feedback and story submissions, I have decided to make a useful guideline/notice for fanfiction writers and readers here at the Archive. These points cover several things I have found very helpful to address for newcomers and frequent visitors alike.
Regarding Readers:
If you wish to read a story, please be aware of its rating (G, PG, PG-13, etc). The high ratings will require an extra step before you are allowed to read the chapters. A link should appear to confirm your age for the adult-rated material. Once you click this link, you will be able to scroll down and click on the chapter title (if there are multiple chapters).
Regarding Members:
As a member, you can personalize your settings as you browse the stories and/or make your own on the Archive. There are two particularly important settings that you should consider: birthdate and editing platform. By specifying your birthdate, you will bypass all warnings for high rated stories. All guests must view the warnings. The Archive is currently using tinyMCE as the standard editing platform. It is designed in a way where the user does not need to know HTML (although there is an option that allows for pure HTML editing when you click on the 'HTML' button). In your settings, you can change this default to another editing platform that loads faster on slower computers.
Regarding Writers:
I find it best to place the required disclaimer under Story Notes when you are submitting your stories. This way the disclaimer will show up on every chapter you submit so you will not need to include one in new chapters. If you want to see an example of this, you can read 'Sunshine RPG.' This chapter series makes use of the disclaimer in the Story Notes as well as chapter summaries in the Chapter Notes.

Sunshine RPG
Hey, everyone! I am currently in the process of adapting the "Sunshine RPG" thread at the Sunshine Fan Forum into a story here. I will try to get it all done as soon as I can. I know the story can be hard to read on the forum and I hope more people will be able to read it this way.
In other news, thank you to everyone who registered. As soon as we get more votes in our poll and/or feedback regarding our first Sunshine Fanfiction Challenge, we will start it with proper details and such. We are always accepting story submissions. If you are waiting for the challenge, don't worry. All challenges made by Sunshine Fan Online staff members (me or Brittany) will accept both published and non-published fanfiction. Take care!
